How to Use Digestify: A Getting-Started Guide

Digestify turns anything you read, watch, or listen to into a clear, structured summary — and then helps you remember it. This guide walks you through everything, from your first digest to a review habit that actually sticks.

What Digestify does

At its core, Digestify does three things:

1. Summarizes any source you give it — a book chapter, article, PDF, video, or podcast transcript — into a structured digest.
2. Structures that summary into an overview, key concepts, quotable lines, and action items, so it's easy to skim and act on.
3. Reinforces it through an AI learning companion that helps you engage with and retain the ideas, so they move into long-term memory instead of fading.

Understanding those three jobs is the fastest way to get value from the tool.

Creating your first digest

From your library, use the New digest panel at the top. You have two ways to add a source:

• Paste text. Copy in an article, a book excerpt, a chapter, a transcript, or your own notes. This is the most flexible option and works for anything.
• From URL. Drop in a link and Digestify will fetch and digest the content for you.

Give it a title if you like — or leave it blank and Digestify will infer one. Then press Digest it. In a few moments you'll have a structured summary.

Tip: You don't have to digest an entire book at once. Digesting chapter by chapter often produces sharper, more useful summaries — and gives you more precise material to review later.

Reading a digest

Every digest is organized the same way, which makes them fast to scan even weeks later:

• Overview — the big picture in a few sentences.
• Key concepts — the core ideas, separated out so you can see the structure of the argument.
• Quotes — the most memorable or important lines, preserved verbatim.
• Action items — anything concrete you could actually do with the material.

Organizing with collections

As your library grows, use collections to group related digests — by topic, by project, by book, or however you think. Create a collection from the sidebar, then assign digests to it when you create them or later. Collections keep a large library navigable and make it easy to review everything on a single theme.

Reviewing what you've read

This is the step that separates Digestify from a plain summarizer, and the one most people underuse.

Each digest connects to Digestify's AI learning companion, which helps you engage with the key ideas — asking questions, prompting recall, and deepening your understanding through conversation. Use it regularly, and the ideas you cared enough to save will actually stay with you.

Everything you create in Digestify is yours. Use Export to download your digests and notes. Your knowledge library isn't locked in.

A simple weekly rhythm

You don't need an elaborate system. This works:

1. As you read, digest the handful of things worth keeping.
2. Once a week, skim your new digests and tidy them into collections.
3. A few times a week, spend a few minutes with the AI learning companion to revisit key ideas.
